Zoe Bayani is an indie singer/songwriter who is based in Atlanta, and she’s just released a spellbinding new single entitled ‘Dashboard’, the second tune that she’s recorded with her band. At twenty-one years old, Zoe is wise beyond her years, as she tells a tale of nihilism and existential dread. “We all just end up dying and becoming one with the Earth again,” she says. Drawing inspiration from nostalgia-laced Americana, folk, and soft-rock, ‘Dashboard’ is a slow-burner, but you wouldn’t want it any other way! It builds itself up gently and lightly, weaving a delicate web of textures and sounds that suck you straight in!
“I feel like I don’t believe in what anyone else believes and it can feel very dreadful and isolating,” admits the artist. This is really the essence behind her latest piece of work. “I’ve never put Jesus on the dashboard” are the song’s opening lyrics, and they’re lyrics that I haven’t been able to forget about since first hearing them.
‘Dashboard’ is a truly exquisite track from a ridiculously gifted musician. Along with her band, there’s really no telling how far Zoe can go. I’ve fallen deeply in love with this tune, and I can’t wait to explore some of her earlier work!
