Yodashe Returns with Forward-Thinking Piece ‘CHRYSALID’

We are certainly familiar with sonic explorer and leftfield artist Yodashe: writing about her previous effort ‘EASTER’, we proudly declared: “The talented creative incorporates a healthy amount of mangled vocal stylings, supercharging her records with cathartic, evocative energy and exhibiting an impressive futuristic character.” Well, we stand by our words; the London-based innovator impresses us once again with a brand new record, ‘CHRYSALID’.

Steeped in meaningful lyricism, the single sees Yodashe celebrating self-empowerment and independence, embarking on a personal journey of discovery and resilience. As she explains: “The track acknowledges and rejects toxic influences and superficial displays of power that only intoxicate and distract from more genuine ways of being.”

Being a Yodashe record, such enlightening songwriting gets wrapped in avant-garde and experimental electronica, this time around pretty minimal and crepuscular. Her vocals are fully immersed in autotune and spacious effects, making for an otherworldly vibe that’s consistent with the project’s quirky and boundary-pushing artistic aura.
