Following a period of rest and reflection, the talented Swedish songstress returns with a brand new offering, ‘Toxic Rain’. In it, the listener will meet a decisively more alternative and folk-oriented side of Xolydia’s artistry, marking a styling shift from her previous single. The record is produced by long-time collaborator Sara Idani.
Introduced by a gentle fingerstyle guitar, field recordings and veiled textures, the track soon builds into a majestic folk-pop gem, showcasing the London-based newcomer’s warm and evocative vocals. Boasting a certain nostalgic and haunting character, ‘Toxic Rain’ is “a dystopian anthem portraying a fictional nuclear disaster caused by humans.”
