Wyn Starks is a Nashville-based vocalist who will be known to many. As a semi-finalist in the most recent season of America’s Got Talent, his incredible vocal ability saw Simon Cowell label him as “brilliant” and had Sofia Vergara literally moved to tears. His tune ‘Who I Am’ is a tribute to his late twin brother, and is undoubtedly one of the most moving and beautiful tunes that I have encountered so far this year. Haunting piano, delicate strings, and the aforementioned ridiculous vocal prowess of Starks all merge together, and it’s just a quite special thing to behold.
It’s not often that I’m at a loss for words when it comes to describing somebody’s vocals, but Wyn’s have truly taken my breath away. His range, composure, and control are just surreal. It’s no surprise whatsoever that he got as far in the competition as he did, and I’m pretty certain that he is just getting started.
‘Who I Am’ features on Wyn’s 2021 debut album ‘Black is Golden’, a record that blends throwback grooves with contemporary moves. From gospel ballads to rhythmic bangers, there truly is something for everyone when it comes to Wyn Starks!
