‘So Sentimental’ is a record with a fascinating origin story. You see, the talented group of people behind it – Seattle-based outfit Wonderful – have been around since the 90s, letting their sound evolve through the few decades since. We did have a peek at their 2003 album ‘God Bless Our Pad’ and it was surprisingly good!
It’s not a surprise anymore, then, to observe them returning in 2023 with another really great record. ‘So Sentimental’ marks Wonderful’s comeback with an electrifying and groovy gem, built over disco and electronica with a certain retrowave allure to it. An uplifting track, bright and shiny, with autotune-flavoured vocals. What more could you want? Such a joyful song is in line with the group’s eclectic catalogue.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘So Sentimental’, Wonderful explain: “A dancey pop song celebrating nostalgic memories and friends of the past. This track marks our first new track in over twelve years, signalling a fresh chapter for our band.”
