Windows Pack a Punch in New Single ‘High Sierra Lows’

Jeremy Bregman

As a touring bassist for many years, Los Angeles-based Matteo Arias (Golden Animals) played all throughout North America and Europe with a variety of acts and musicians. Windows is a musical project that he founded in 2018 as a way of allowing him to focus on his own music, and we’re so glad that he did. The band’s brand new single is a tune called ‘High Sierra Lows’ and it’s a sparkling blend of surfer rock, a little Californian country, and even hints of psychedelia. Arias’ rich, velvety, and full-bodied vocals work their magic over the soundtrack, all culminating in a warm and inviting song that is just perfect!

‘High Sierra Lows’ is actually Windows’ first studio single. “We are very happy to release our first non-bedroom recording(s) to the public,” says the band. What’s even better, is that they plan on releasing quite a few more singles throughout this year. We’ll be eagerly awaiting them!

I’ve now listened to ‘High Sierra Lows’ a couple of times. Each time, I pick up something that I didn’t hear before. It’s a wonderfully layered and pieced-together tune and, as far as studio debuts go, is right up there with the best!
