Wilhelm Breaks Three Years Hiatus with ‘The Creek’

We have grown to particularly appreciate ‘The Creek’, the latest effort by American songwriter and musician Wilhelm (also known for militancy in the creative outfit Murneau). The track is perhaps the most convoluted and compelling showcase of the project’s refined artistry. As lovers of the ethereal and admirers of the dreamy, we connected almost instantly with the record: blending electronic features with more organic elements, ‘The Creek’ seems to draw a line that starts from Wilhelm’s Folk foundation to then arriving at more contemporary indietronica tones.

The result is an introspective and haunting sonic journey, a slow-moving moment of poignancy that doesn’t fail to keep the listener hooked for the entirety of the track. Introduced by a gentle acoustic guitar, ‘The Creek’ soon evolves into a nuanced alternative jewel, providing the perfect framework for Wilhelm’s dark-oriented, evocative vocals, a perfect match for what’s already a stunning musical recipe.

Returning on the scenes after a hiatus lasting the better part of 3 years, Wilhelm makes a big statement: we are confident he’ll be able to reach a wider audience soon. We are already part of it.
