As the talented artist explains: “I hope that by listening to ‘Level Up’ people can feel less alone in struggling with the feeling of not being where they want to be in life. That they realise behind the illusion of success, everyone is just chasing the next thing and they will never be content with what they have or where they are in life as long as people around them have more.”
While its lyricism is inspirational and uplifting, the track also carries strength in its sonic matter. Produced by rising sound alchemist FJ Law, the instrumental is the ideal companion for Paynter’s peculiar vocals, boasting perfect pitch and rapid flow. It’s intimate electronic pop, akin to Holly Humberstone but with an authentic, original flair.
