Wednesday’s Child Shares Hypnotising Gem ‘Terpsichore’

On their way to an upcoming EP – ‘Seven Sisters’ – London kaleidoscopic outfit Wednesday’s Child continue unveiling crumbs of their artistry, little nuggets of joy and euphoria that act as a musical manifesto for what’s to come. In fact, we wrote about them not long ago, praising ‘Ronnie’, a previous single, for its “eclectic mix of psych-rock and punk references”. Now, Wednesday’s Child returns with their latest offering, ‘Terpsichore’, a tribute to the Greek muse of song and dance.

On a mission to highlight seven legendary and glorious women, Wednesday’s Child are building quite a luscious and euphoric style, drenched in tradition while looking at the future. Bathing in psych and pop influences, the group delivers the perfect contour for their nuanced and metaphorical lyricism, at times rather theatrical, almost dramatic. ‘Terpsichore’ follows those very same stylings, introducing 70s-style vocal harmonies, dazzling instrumental arrangements and a flair for evocative lyricism.

Having been constantly championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, the band seems to be building a sizeable audience, at least in their London base. Three singles left before the EP: Alice, Billie and Julia. Stay tuned!
