Following up from ‘Thinking Of You’ and ‘Adore’, some of Vermantics’ best efforts so far, the group now unveils ‘Tomorrow Might Be Too Late’, an EP that feels like the completion of a year-long journey. In fact, it collects a series of singles released in the past few months, showcasing the band’s irresistible sonic imprint, a slice of euphoric indie and alt-rock energy with charming and warm vocals.
Immersing the listeners in fierce yet nuanced sonic goo, the group manage to create a musical picture that feels hopeful yet melancholic, intense yet measured, a contrast that mirrors the one between the relatable vocals and the more edgy instrumentals. From the vintage alt-rock territories of ‘Adore You’, to the more emotional bays of ‘When You Call’, the EP is certainly an eclectic record, something that helps it in relating to a wider audience.
By the looks of it, it’s clear Vermantics are enjoying quite the momentum – looking forward to observing the band bloom into a bigger act. Formed by brothers Stefan (vocals/guitar) and Daniel Fedele (bass), Jack Stevenson (guitar) and Julian Perrotta (drums), Vermantics explain: “The EP is packed with ‘you and me’ songs, just at different stages. Sometimes I’m the bad guy, sometimes you’re the bad guy”.
