Vanda is a truly special artist. We’ve been following the Los Angeles-based musician for quite some time now, and were even fortunate enough to be able to interview her recently! With sixteen singles already to her name, Vanda’s brand new song ‘Eileen & I’ has to be the hardest one she’s ever composed. While finishing off the recording of her upcoming album ‘Sober In Another Life’, the artist’s life was forever changed by the passing of her best friend, Kaylee Eileen Murphy.
The haunting and piano-led tune serves as Vanda’s private and personal tribute to the most important person in her life, as she heartbreakingly captures grief and loss in their rawest forms. Featuring an actual voice note from Eileen, and one of the most emotive and moving vocal performances I’ve ever heard, it’s a track that will live with you for quite some time.
Vanda released ‘Eileen & I’ on what would have been Eileen’s birthday, and she has served up an absolutely beautiful and poignant tribute to her friend. As for her musical prowess, well that appears to be absolutely boundaryless, and she just seems to grow and develop with each new release. A musician of the very highest order, we are with Vanda all the way!
