We’ve been tracking the sounds of Urban Walrus for a while now. The brainchild of Swiss/German indie-garbage-rock-poet Fabian Körber, we’ve been mightily impressed with previous tunes like ‘August Rain’ and ‘All I Really Want’. Last Friday, Fabian unleashed a brand new single in the form of ‘Not Today’, and we are honoured to be able to share it with you today.
An edgy and in-your-face rock ‘n’ roll anthem, ‘Not Today’ is the “heaviest” we’ve heard Urban Walrus sound. With big, tasty riffs and seriously upbeat drum work, it offers a glimpse into Fabian’s more aggressive yet artful musical evolution. Showcasing their raw and rebellious side, it’s a track that lyrically focuses on resilience and refusing to let the world bring you down.
“Have you ever got up in the morning knowing instantly that the day ahead would not be your day?” asks Körber. “But instead of staying in bed, you went out anyway, just to prove you were right”.
A powerful and defiant piece of music, ‘Not Today’ embodies the spirit of fighting back and pushing through adversity. It’s another cracking song that Urban Walrus can proudly add to their discography, a discography that is beginning to see some serious and deserved Spotify numbers!
