It can be tough to follow up on a highly successful album, but Moscow-based indie synth-rock act Under Delusion has done just that with their incredible new single ‘Dive’. A dark and emotional tale, it’s a tune that blends elements of alternative rock, dark pop, synthwave, and electronica. Asking the question; “How do you get to know another person? Do you do it slowly, or dive in the raging ocean?”, ‘Dive’ showcases the three-piece’s storytelling brilliance and emotionally deep lyrical content. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, all three band members are poets after all!
I have to speak about the vocals for a second. Whilst I don’t know their name, whoever is singing has a voice that has enormously resonated with me. Low-timbered, controlled, and darkly enchanting, it takes the track to a whole new level. Again, I shouldn’t be surprised. It’s what Under Delusion is becoming rather well known for.
Inspired by bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Royal Blood, and Highly Suspect, Under Delusion has crafted a sound that is distinctive and fresh. ‘Dive’ is a cracking song from a seriously talented bunch, and I can’t wait to follow their journey as it effortlessly progresses.
