Two-Man Giant Squid Shares Fierce Punk Effort ‘Progress’

Warm, fuzzy, sleazy and rebellious: that’s how ‘Progress’ sounds to us. An absolute gem, the track feels fresh, young and fierce. The latest effort of Brooklyn-based band Two-Man Giant Squid, the record showcases the band’s talent for blending punk influences with witty lyrics, creating a captivating and thought-provoking listening experience.

Comprised of head honcho Mitchell Vinokur on vocals and guitar, Robbie Sawyer on guitar, Yan Kogan on bass, Brendan Jones on drums, and Sam Borges on synth, Two-Man Giant Squid formed in 2022 following the success of Mitchell Vinokur’s debut psych-punk EP, ‘Abyssal Gigantism.’ From there, the slick outfit moved into a collective identity, leaving a trail of admiration and euphoria around their live shows. They are real musicians, fully spending themselves in their performance.

With biting lyrics that satirize the allure of quick fixes and empty promises, ‘Progress’ reminds us to question the true meaning of progress and be wary of those who try to sell it to us.
