Twelve Days in June is the rock musical project of New York-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dave Hulegaard, a self-described throwback artist. On his brand new release ‘Numb’, Dave turns back the clock to the golden age of 90s alternative rock, gifting the world a gritty and intense tune that doesn’t let up for a second.
Influenced by the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Silverchair, and The Lemonheads, ‘Numb’ is Hulegaard’s loudest offering to date. Passionate and in-your-face, it’s a track that examines the often unbalanced human experience and showcases the musician’s raw and unapologetic approach to his songwriting.
“I wrote ‘Numb’ as a reminder that it’s okay to feel your feelings,” he says. “The aftermath of heartbreak can be an excruciating and confusing time with all these complicated feelings swirling around inside”.
At its core, ‘Numb’ is a song about permitting yourself to heal. To say what needs to be said, for one’s own sanity and emotional well-being. It’s also a deeply powerful and cathartic piece of music, and I can’t wait to hear what Twelve Days in June offers up next!
