Based in Portugal, Tsunamiz is the genre-blending musical project of singer/songwriter and producer Bruno Sobral. Just a few days ago, he released a brand new tune entitled ‘Kairos’, and it’s easily one of the most upbeat and infectious tracks that I’ve heard all year! Dedicated to the underdogs of the world, ‘Kairos’ invites the listener to get up and dance – and it’s honestly impossible not to! Sprinkled with Latin undertones that add depth and intrigue, it’s the perfect indie-pop song in so many ways. There’s something for everyone in it and, even if you’re not usually one to trip the light fantastic, you’ll find yourself doing so very soon!
Tsunamiz says that his main goal with the track was to, “make the listener experience deep emotions while dancing and jumping”. I think that box can be checked! “I am also not afraid to mix different types of genres or moods within the same song,” he says. And that, for me, is what gives ‘Kairos’ that special and magical sound that I simply cannot escape.
The tune will form part of Tsunamiz’s upcoming album ‘Kultur is Dead’, which is scheduled for release on the 23rd of next month. It’s an album that I’m really looking forward to hearing, as I think Bruno is on to something quite sonically special!
