TRONIKAA Shares Monumental Album ‘Inner Hyperspace’

An extensive and eclectic project, TRONIKAA is decisively one of the quirkiest and most interesting offerings we have heard in a while. We mean it: delivering an intriguing mix of electronica, fusion and acid jazz stylings, the French group manages to record cosmic, soulful and punchy music, always instrumental and with a great deal of technical virtuosity.

‘Inner Hyperspace’ is TRONIKAA’s latest effort, a stunning album that’s as hazy as it is evocative. Alternating synthetic arpeggiators to guitar and piano solos (they could be straight out of a Herbie Hancock record), the talented outfit navigates with charisma and confidence through the last 50 years of music history, hiding their jazz roots in plain sight. The keen listener will spot them right away though – at times, TRONIKAA feels like a 70s/80s fusion band – think Steps Ahead and Chick Corea Elektric Band.

The artistic foundation of the album is spearheaded by Vincent Guibert, composer, instrumentalist and holistic creative with a long background in the music industry. As he explains: “Today, it’s about finding who I am at this stage, after all these sharings, all these meetings, all these accompanied artists, these tours, these clubs, these theatres, so much spiritual and human nourishment.”
