Trey Ewald Returns with Bright Pop Anthem ‘EVERY OTHER MONTH’

Writing about the dynamics of dating is all the rage these days. Trey Ewald knows it well, crafting a relatable, playful and tongue-in-cheek bop with melancholic undertones. ‘EVERY OTHER MONTH’ is as good as it could be, a slice of modern pop with groovy beats and a striking production around it, courtesy of frequent collaborator Kayla Jo. In it, Ewald showcases his evocative and sharp vocals, captivating the listeners with honest, deep storytelling and sultry imagery.

Following up from Trey’s 2022 single ‘All My Friends Are Getting Married’, ‘EVERY OTHER MONTH’ marks the American talent’s comeback after a two-year hiatus. His sound seems to have remained coherent to the project’s roots, with modern and slick beats paired with early ‘2000s boyband influences (think NSYNC). It’s an eclectic mix of wholesome lyricism and dance-oriented sonic energy.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the piece, Trey Ewald explains: “I wanted this song to feel nostalgic, yet fresh and new. I wrote this song after going on a few bad dates. It originally came from a place of frustration; I was a little bitter then, but I’m not bitter anymore, and I’m glad I got a song out of it!”
