Trevour Amunga is an up-and-coming rapper and hip-hop artist who is based in Los Angeles, California. His single ‘EuphoriAA’ off of his ‘For Akira’ album has amassed over 170,000 plays on Spotify, and now he’s returned with a brand new banger entitled ’09 MESSI’. Taking inspiration from his favourite football star Lionel Messi, the rapper pens a track that, in his words, is about “getting inspired to just create something even when you feel stuck”. Teaming up with Darious Porter, Roy Audio, Blake Anthony, and Mbwav, Amunga and co. create a hard-hitting, straight-talking, and gritty rap tune that doesn’t let up for one second.
“Sometimes as artists, we go through droughts where it’s hard to find that inspiration,” says Amunga. “This song was about me just letting my expressions loose”. It’s this authentic and real approach to songwriting that, in my humble opinion, makes Trevour Amunga a special musician. There’s no fanfaronade or bravado. There’s just honesty and genuineness. Perfect!
With two full albums already under his belt as well as numerous singles, Trevour holds the keys to his future. If you ask us, it’s going to be an incredibly bright one!
