Trash Pals Return with Dreamy Effort ‘Delancey’

It was early summer when we were writing about ‘Dust It Off’. Praising Californian duo Trash Pals for their sharp, ever-evolving sound, we proudly declared: “a seriously infectious little tune, cementing the pair’s status as masters of both ambient and high-octane sounds.” We stand by our words: ‘Delancey’ is the group’s worthy follow-up, showcasing once again how easy it can be for Trash Pals to pivot into a sonically diverse environment.

Still pursuing the sort of casual, post-punk fuzziness that’s always fresh and fierce, ‘Delancey’ maintains a relatively mellower outlook, bending evocative and poignant songwriting with dreamy indie tones and friendly vocals. The result is a record that’s eclectic and approachable, a tiny bit leftfield but also pretty mainstream. You get it, right? relatable, yet strongly authentic.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Trash Pals heroes Conor Rayne and Gabe Schnider explain: “The ethos behind this single is warmth; ‘Delancey’ should feel like a hug. Like all of our songs, we want to convey a vulnerable message that you can also DANCE and feel good to!”
