And now for something completely different. ‘Rolling Block’ is the brand new single from Trash Cells, a French-based duo consisting of singer/songwriters, beatmakers, and rappers Nasser Ferchichi and Basile Lacroix-Boettcher. Describing their sound as “hip hop infused with punk hardcore, industrial, and ambient sounds,” ‘Rolling Block’ is unlike anything I’ve heard previously, and I mean that in the best possible way! It’s an energetic, full-on, and forceful tune that gives off vibes from bands like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. It’s incredibly unique and innovative and, for its pure originality and intensity, deserves your attention.
Influenced by artists like Travis Scott, Murda Beatz, Ho99o9, and Slipknot, Trash Cells are moving their sound in a new direction. Punchier, more experimental, and more mature. I have to say…I’m excited! ‘Rolling Block’ is such a rollercoaster ride of a track that the thought of an entire album is very enticing.
Trash Cells push the boundaries of genre-blending and create a sound that is 100% their own. It’s dynamic, captivating, and refreshing. Nasser Ferchichi and Basile Lacroix-Boettcher are both highly skilled producers and lyricists, and I have no doubt we’ll be hearing from them again very soon!
