Behind their fierce and gritty rock-punk style, there’s an unbelievable story. In essence, The Train Rockers can be seen as a group that has slowly developed, growing on the streets of Munich, reacting to the many people and life tales they got in contact with. In an age where music is instantaneous, it’s refreshing to dive into such a nuanced and refined artistic journey. Meeting each other at the famous Liberty Bar district in Munich, The Train Rockers developed a bond that’s only warranted by the kaleidoscopic nature of their town, allowing a group with such diverse heritage and cultures to come together as one under the guise of music.
Active since 2015 as a live music outfit, the band debuted in the recorded scene only last year. Today, we focus on ‘Munich’, a celebrative anthem dedicated to the German city they call home. Included in their latest EP ‘The Black Sheep’, the song builds on an eclectic sound, mixing distorted guitars with piano lines, leaving ample space for the group’s clear and dynamic vocals.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, The Train Rockers explain: “Munich’ is a love letter, especially to the ugly side of our city. We started to play on the streets of Munich, later in the subways and even in jails. The song recalls all the magical moments out there with its people, their energy and their charm…”
