Tommy Trull Presents Intimate and Eclectic Album ‘Break the Believer’

A deeply personal and intimate solo offering, ‘Break the Believer’ is the rocking new album from North Carolina-based singer/songwriter and producer Tommy Trull. Taking the bold step of not collaborating on the record, as he’s often done in the past, Tommy penned ‘Break the Believer’ while in the midst of grappling with the balance between faith and doubt, hope and despair.

Also examining the intersection of technology and spirituality, the album begins with an introspective and melancholic tune called ‘First Night in Louisville’. Telling the tale of a drunken night out beginning with optimism and belief but ultimately descending into an unravelling of dreams, it’s a potent start to proceedings.

‘Franklin Blvd Believers’ then switches sonic lanes to a more upbeat and toe-tapping approach, while ‘Loam Down By The Lake’ comes in with a hazy and almost psychedelic energy that showcases Trull’s fearless songwriting and eclectic attitude.

‘Highlighter’ serves as something of a gentle palette cleanser before Tommy throws the listener into the deep end once again with the gritty sounds of ‘She’s Just the Middle Child’.

Other personal favourites include ‘Nice to Be Wrong’ and ‘Best of All Places’, but you know my suggestion these days…listen to ‘Break the Believer’ in its entirety! It’s worth it!
