Tillerman Return with Moody Gem ‘Hear Angels Cry’

Jeremy Bregman

‘Hear Angels Cry’ is the latest rich and bluesy rock tune from Tillerman, a talented foursome hailing from Leeds in the United Kingdom. Serving as the first single from the band’s upcoming debut album, ‘Hear Angels Cry’ is a beautifully melodic, tender, and sombre track. A reflection and lamentation of the current state of global politics, trends, and attitudes. Lead vocalist, Jon Kulczycki, puts on a stellar vocal performance, and there’s a freshness as well as a familiarity to their overall sound.

Tillerman worked alongside their producer Grant Henderson at Loom Studios in Leeds to create ‘Hear Angels Cry’. Henderson is certainly no newcomer to the scene and has worked on music for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics, The Charlatans, and KT Tunstall just to name a few. To say that the band is in good hands would be an understatement.

Drawing on inspiration from the classics; Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Fleetwood Mac, Tillerman also find influence in the more 90s Britpop sounds of bands like Oasis and Cast. All these influences combine to produce a soundscape that is undoubtedly unique and, as far as I am concerned, extremely exciting.
