Thrillkiller Returns with Electrifying Jewel ‘Dark Star’

When you think you have heard it all, discovered every talented band, that’s exactly when new music hits you the hardest. That’s how we felt about Thrillkiller, Baltimore-based band with a knack for 80s-inspired aesthetics and general eclecticism. Blending Rock, Synthwave, Eurobeat, and Funk in a euphoric and charming new formula, the American group has skillfully delivered a sound that is both refreshing and enjoyable. ‘Dark Star’ is perhaps the biggest evidence of that, a triumphant and infectious track that showcases Thrillkiller’s ability to create anthemic, genre-defying music.

The musicianship displayed in the record is rather impressive. Dazzling, fast-paced guitar riffs kidnap the listener’s attention, helping the synth work create a unique sonic universe, one where nostalgia and modernity seem to come together perfectly, enhanced by Thrillkiller’s electrifying character. This really is a quirky and captivating outfit, especially when it comes to mixing metal references with poppier elements. Not to mention, incredible vocals.

That said, you’ll now understand how Thrillkiller might have taken the industry by storm. In fact, they have drawn quite the attention to themselves, especially with a recent cover rendition of ‘Dirty Diana’ by Michael Jackson.
