This Silent Divide Share Latest Effort ‘Morning’

We are certainly not new to New Zealand rockers This Silent Divide, having featured them on our pages earlier this year. Celebrating ‘Beautiful Creature’, we proudly declared: “It moves quietly, but with confidence, taking the listeners onto a melancholic and intense journey into the band’s alt-rock universe”.

Now This Silent Divide return to the music scene with ‘Morning’, a single that unveils a more emotional, intense side of the Wellington-based outfit. Leaving behind haunting and dark tones, the record explores territories more akin to the likes of Foo Fighters – wholesome, uplifting and melodic rock with a penchant for anthemic and legendary lyricism.

‘Morning’ wouldn’t be the same without Shaun Jones’ lead vocals, so dynamic and charming, even evocative, really comfortable in such rich rock settings. Overall, we can safely say This Silent Divide are evolving, refining their sound and slowly reaching a level that puts them on par with well-known bands. The question is not ‘if’, but rather, ‘when’? We are confident they’ll reach a larger audience soon enough.

Lyrically, ‘Morning’ explores the modern obsession with failing relationships, perhaps aided by the complex and uncertain future younger generations seem to face. Expressing vulnerability and fragility, This Silent Divide write an introspective jewel for the contemporary era.
