This Silent Divide Returns with Alt-Rock Jewel ‘Beautiful Creature’

Although their career has been relatively short so far – with two electrifying singles and one EP seeing the light of day – This Silent Divide possess an incredibly charismatic sonic imprint, as if they were a seasoned band in the scene. Emerging from Wellington, New Zealand, the group champions an eclectic alt-rock imprint, built on traditional genre formulas, then declined into a decisively more personal style. After a hiatus that lasted almost a year, This Silent Divide now share their latest effort, ‘Beautiful Creature’. In it, the listener will gladly discover the impressive growth the bad has endured.

First, there’s the production and musical standpoint: This Silent Divide sound punchier and more massive than ever, really taking their record on a global stage. Toby Lloyd on production duties and Robin Schmidt on mastering help elevate the track to an electrifying banger.

Then, there’s the songwriting aspect, and that’s where the crucial part plays out. ‘Beautiful Creature’ moves quietly, but with confidence, taking the listeners onto a melancholic and intense journey into the band’s alt-rock universe. It’s a triumph: Jones’ leas vocals capture our attention fully, perfectly complimenting the sonic framework.

Lyrically, ‘Beautiful Creature’ seeks to explore the many linings of our reality. As the group explains: “The song is about society’s desire to write-off and punish people who lash out when pushed beyond their limits.”
