This makes them appeal to a particularly larger audience, explaining why they were able to rally so much support around them. Featured by the likes of BBC Radio Wales and The Unsigned Guide Spotlight, it’s no wonder why THELIXX are shaping up to be the next big thing: we’ll be proud to declare we were supporting them even before their mainstream break!
Now, the group is eager to share its first release of the year, following up from last year’s ‘Hayley’, described by us as “a stunning, luscious jewel. Over a stellar instrumental, we get served a witty yet pensive relationship and love tale.” Well, ‘With You’ doesn’t disappoint, delivering the same amount of lyrical charge and catchy energy as its predecessor. A pattern is starting to emerge: THELIXX are incredible songwriters, crafting glorious and relatable choruses that would be particularly powerful if sung out loud in an arena or stadium – they’ll get there soon enough.
Lyrically, ‘With You’ explores the uncertainty of love and the trepidation of revealing our true feelings to their recipient. As THELIXX explains: “Communicating is something we’re really bad at. People in general, it’s really tough. Especially being an adolescent who don’t really know how they’re feeling themselves. I think it’s something most people can see in themselves and identify with. Despite the melancholy undertone, the song itself is really hopeful. I think it’s about giving yourself to someone or something. Giving them all of you.”
