Introduced by fuzzy, noisy guitars, ‘Go!’ reveals its intense character from the get-go, initiating a thrilling and ferocious sonic journey into anthemic and dark rock, a sonic livery that perfectly fits the humans behind it. Hailing from London, The Zaramutas bathe and thrive in gloomy and misty settings, exuding tons of energy and charisma.
The song evolves further with Olina’s luscious and evocative vocals, delivered with cathartic calmness and fierceness; good luck not to be hypnotised by them! Christos completes the talented lineup, taking care of the guitar tones and the instrumental arrangements. The alchemy between the two works very well, making The Zaramutas a project with lots of potential. In fact, it is not by chance that they have an album planned to be released later this year.
So, who’s ‘Go!’ for? Not strictly hard rock, but hard enough to be relevant for any alternative listener. To us, the record reminds us of Marylin Manson and his signature blend of radio-friendly catchiness and alternative sleaze. Speaking about the inspiration behind the lyricism, Christos explains: “Is there room for resentment when someone’s toxicity and inflammatory behaviour meets its end? Maybe not, but there’s a little bit of guilty pleasure in everyone witnessing oppressive, predatory alliances falling apart”.
