Having previously featured The Wren on our blog, we were excited to see her return with a wonderful new record. Based in LA, the talented songstress shares her latest effort, an acoustic ballad that’s as soothing to the ear as it is meaningful to the mind. ‘december’ is an absolute gem: the listeners will rejoice and find comfort in the singer’s delicate and introspective – almost intimate – vocals, flourishing into a musical recipe which includes choral harmonies and cinematic tones.
Lyrically, the American singer draws on personal experiences; in those terms, ‘december’ is a strong realization that someone isn’t right for you. The reflective storytelling works perfectly with Matt Foster’s ethereal productions, perfectly joining The Wren in delivering one of the best songs we have heard in a while. Yes, it’s that good!
Gearing up for an EP expected later this year, The Wren is an artistic wonder we’ll all have to deal with, sooner or later.
