Keen to expand their sonic vision, The Woven Project embraced collaboration, so much so that they extended an invite to talented musical friends, asking them to remix the nuanced, alt-folk matter contained in their latest EP ‘Let Beautiful In’ (originally released last year). Now, don’t be fooled – the EP itself is already pretty mesmerizing and cathartic, a perfect example of how folk and electronica can coexist and enrich each other. This very same narrative is pursued in the remix series.
‘Winds (Foll Remix)’ is the latest single to be unveiled from The Woven Project. Following up on four remixes already out in the world, the track supercharges the British project with limitless textures and ethereal vocal samples. Perfectly fitting the definition of ‘indietronica’, Foll embarks on a poignant journey including glitchy, noisy tones and orchestral soundscapes, the perfect match for The Woven Project’s emotional compositions.
Out now via Shy Bairn Records, ‘Winds (Foll Remix)’ will particularly resonate with bold listeners, the ones keen to discover leftfield and hidden gems. Sometimes it pays off to go the extra mile.
