The Transits Return with Fierce Anthem ‘Outsiders’

The keen reader might recall New Zealand-South African band The Transits. Featuring their Hallowen-themed single ‘Living Dead for a Paycheck’ a few months ago, we proudly described it as “doing exactly what it says on the tin: have you ever experienced a job that completely drains your soul?”. Recently, The Transits have returned with their latest effort, another all-out pop-punk anthem with a great deal of fiery, empowering lyricism in it.

‘Outsiders’ packs a literal punch, with charming and energetic guitar riffs laying along a wall of striking drum grooves and catchy, relatable vocals. Nothing groundbreaking – yet it’s all so well crafted, with The Transits taking us back to the glory days of MTV-esque punk. Exploring what it means to feel outsiders, both at a personal and societal level, the record inspires listeners to be authentic and proud, relieving the pressure of following a pre-conceived formula or the majority’s behaviour.

Overall, ‘Outsiders’ is an honest and wholesome anthem towards staying true to oneself. As the group explain: “A rallying cry—turning alienation into strength and standing tall against the world”. The Transits feature Dom Antelme (vocals, bass), Tyrone Smith (drums), and Ryan Lunn (vocals, guitars, synths, production).
