We have been following The Thing With Feathers for a while now, and it’s clear that they are on a path to stardom. Partly that has already happened – their impressive streaming figures don’t certainly lie – not a surprise given the group’s incredible energy and charisma. Now, the Nashville-based outfit rounds off 2024 with a raw, exciting live EP, in our opinion their biggest showcase of musicianship to date.
Hear us out: everyone can sound good on a record, given current technology. But in live settings? Well, that’s a different ballpark. ‘Ready to Burn – Live at Exit/In’ still sounds anthemic and powerful, while enhancing the vibrant, real-time euphoria The Thing with Feathers have to offer. Needless to say, they are all amazing musicians. The EP collect some of their biggest singles, eventually resembling a celebration of the group’s artistic journey so far.
Speaking about the record, lead singer David Welcsh explains: “We couldn’t think of a better venue to do this than Exit/In; a room that has seen us grow from the underground independent act we started out as into the national touring act that we’ve become over the past several years.” The release comes with video footage of the show too, which also gives a clear glimpse of the dedicated audience the project is building upon.
