It was only last month I found myself waxing lyrical about Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Vince Grant, AKA The Sea at Midnight. I’d stumbled upon a powerful tune called ‘Wait For Rain‘ and was proud to declare it “a masterful blend of art and advocacy.”
Since then, Vince has released three new singles, the last of which came out only a few hours ago. Titled ‘Our Brilliant Destruction,’ it sees The Sea at Midnight diving into the chilling effects of climate change once again.
Similar to ‘Wait For Rain’, ‘Our Brilliant Destruction’ has a somewhat dark and melancholic quality. It’s cinematic too – allowing the track to evoke beauty and despair simultaneously, which is no easy feat. Vince’s familiar and heartfelt vocals shine yet again with aching sincerity, and that’s something I’ve come to truly appreciate about the artist’s work. I also think it’s why he deserves all the plaudits that will surely be coming his way.
Vince Grant is a true artist in every sense of the word. He has ideas and stories to share. Most importantly, he knows just how to transform those thoughts and tales into cracking music. I can’t wait to hear what he offers up next!
