Cards on the table…We adore The Pulltops! The Milwaukee-based duo of Mark Pierret and Tom Crowell seem to grow more and more confident with each new release, and their fanbase deservedly follows. They’ve had a pretty busy year so far, with four singles and an EP already under their belt, but today I’d like to hone in on their brand new tune ‘Mission Control’.
Unleashing their signature sound; a dynamic blend of alternative and classic rock with rich harmonies and modern sensibilities, ‘Mission Control’ is truly the quintessential Pulltops experience. Jam-packed with everything we love about them, from the introspective verses to the highly anthemic choruses, it’s a track that showcases the pair’s uncanny knack for blending the old with the new.
Thematically, Mark and Tom go deep. Diving into the quest for guidance and the ability to regain control amid life’s turbulence, ‘Mission Control’ explores the tension between being restless and seeking solace. Relatable, moving, and utterly compelling, it paints a picture of the struggle to balance inner turmoil with the pursuit of peace. Genius. Just genius!
