It was only a few weeks ago that I came across The project. A California-based supergroup formed by ex-Shameless lead guitarist James Davis, it was their crisp and rocky debut single ‘Best days‘ that immediately piqued my interest. Now, with over 320,000 plays on Spotify, it’s clear that I wasn’t the only one!
‘Over you’ is the band’s brand new tune, and continues their hard-rocking and electrifying journey. A driving, anthemic, rock ‘n’ roll classic, it’s a track that doesn’t let up for a second. Gritty guitar riffs meet thumping bass lines and a commanding drumbeat before Jeff Plant’s vocals make their introduction. Another ex-member of Shameless, Plant’s voice stands tall, ready to rival the legends of classic rock with raw power and a soaring range.
With so much talent on display, The project’s debut album cannot come soon enough! Produced by Dennis Hill, (Face To Face, Sammy Hagar, Montgomery Gentry) the band has promised us an electrifying assortment of meticulously crafted songs. I have absolutely no doubt that they will deliver! For now though, just enjoy the two current offerings they’ve made available, and start getting pumped to hear more!
