The O.O. Shares Feel-Good Anthem ‘Let’s Have a Party’

While on the surface ‘Let’s Have A Party’ might sound like a simple record, it’s actually a great example of how a good song doesn’t need a fancy sonic environment around it. Playful and relatable, ‘Let’s Have A Party’ flourishes on a raw and punchy indie identity, focusing the listeners’ attention on The O.O.’s powerful and evocative vocals, truly charismatic and catchy once the chorus hits.

Such a feel-good, carefree attitude forms a stark contrast with the reasoning behind its lyricism. Written as a reaction to Covid-19 darkness, ‘Let’s Have a Party’ is meant to be a “celebratory anthem”, – as described by the British songster – marking the return to a normal life and the ability to… have a party!

Hailing from the Isle of Wight, The O.O. (known by day as Ollie Price) crafts a sound that’s extremely relatable and easily digestible, with a certain Britpop and punk fierceness. As he explains: “An indie party song about having a good time partying, dancing, drinking and having fun!”
