Hailing from Seattle, the talented band champions a charming indie-pop livery, with a distinct flair for nostalgic guitar tones and catchy melodies.
A rather long piece, ‘Secrets’ develops its intensity as it goes along, preferring a clean, hazy sonic livery that’s incredibly lush and soothing. Drum grooves get rowdier and rowdier towards the end, together with a controlled guitar solo helping the song reach its end. Vocals are clean and meaningful, sharing a tale of authenticity and emotional reckoning.
As The Northern Light explain, the track was written on a trip to Canada, back in 2022: “The words were mostly written in one sitting in a park in Bayfield, Ontario on the shore of Lake Huron. It is a nostalgic take on memories of individuals and families and even an entire people that can be recalled from physical places if only one cares to quietly listen”
