We’d like to refocus your attention back to the project again, as we dive deep into ‘The Barkers’, now chosen as a main single.
Built upon a charming pop-rock livery with a distinctly fierce aftertaste, ‘The Barkers’ pushes through to rock territories, lasting a monumental seven minutes – the right amount for head honcho Linda Brady’s nuanced and meaningful storytelling. Her vocals exude class and elegance, yet manage to convey energy and intensity, in what’s one of the most impressive displays of musicianship in the whole album.
Sonic qualities aside, Brady takes particular care in her songwriting, packing ‘The Barkers’ with a healthy dose of introspection and wisdom. She explains: “An angry look at the world when I saw it for what it was. Then I looked at myself and saw the same mess.” A particularly honest and authentic take on our modern reality, from an artist who has experienced life in all of its beauty and pain.
