The Hybris Unveils Latest Effort ‘Impostor Syndrome’

International rock outfit The Hybris seems to be living a very productive and artistic life. Suddenly, they are back on our pages with a new record, ‘Impostor Syndrome’. The release follows up from previous effort ‘Keep The Wolves Away’, described by us as “managing to build up tension and grittiness, delivering solemn, anthemic vibes.” ‘Impostor Syndrome’ sets its path on a more punchy and composed rocky direction, favouring melodious vibes and strong songwriting over guitar and instrumental prowess, although retaining a certain punk drive at its core.

A unique international act, The Hybris is composed of three friends originally from Germany. Despite being spread out all over the world, they were able to come together and keep their music alive. In a way, The Hybris’ music is a testament to the power of friendship and collaboration. They write and produce their music in a virtual recording studio, each member contributing something unique to the mix.

Lyrically, ‘Impostor Syndrome’ deals with the feeling of not being good enough, something many of us know all too well. Describing the inspiration behind the track, The Hybris explain: “Impostor Syndrome’ is about a feeling many of us know – about being not good enough. Not good enough in your job, not good enough for relationships, not good enough to create anything of value. It’s a dialogue with a well-meaning friend.”
