While were listening to The Dust Collectors, we fell in love with ‘Bullshit & Lies’ – one of the tracks contained in their latest effort, ‘Hanlon’s Razor’. Why did we like the track so much? Well, it’s probably due to the charming guitar pattern in the verses, so bouncy and uplifting, really supercharging the song. To be honest, the whole EP is packed with stunning offerings, also showcasing strong eclecticism in its references. Jumping from soul-rock to Americana and country influences, the record is a real treasure trove of nostalgic rock, something we are confident will be appreciated by many listeners out there.
To note, this is The Dust Collectors’ second EP of the year, following up from ‘Filtered Gems’, perhaps a more introspective and country-flavoured collection of songs. ‘Hanlon’s Razor’, on the other hand, is decisively fiercer and prouder. Championing a heavier rock outlook, the record is rather uplifting, evoking brighter emotions, if you will. Of course, it’s all crowned by the group’s witty storytelling, exploring themes of personal experience, everyday life and existential reckoning.
Written as a collaborative effort by The Dust Collectors, ‘Hanlon’s Razor’ is an impressive offering from the American band. Recommended!
