The Buddha Pests Returns With Single ‘She Doesn’t Bother’

This is a story of resilience. In a world where musical projects get created and disbanded in a matter of months, The Buddha Pests can boast a long history, spanned over more than a decade. Headed by lead singer and founder Peter Derzbach, the project lived through several line-up changes, now stabilizing around a quartet featuring Nicola, Alessandro and Johnathan. Navigating the numerous music venues in London, UK, the group consistently develop a dynamic alt-rock sound, helped by their skilled musicianship. Peter’s songwriting often endures in engaged storytelling, drawing inspiration from literature and everyday experiences.

The Buddha Pests’ latest release takes the shape of ‘She Doesn’t Bother’. Produced in-house by the band, the track showcases a poignant, refined brand of alt-rock, blending distorted guitars with more controlled pop songwriting. This is more relevant in the verses: Derzbach’s lead vocals are malleable, precise and expressive, working perfectly with an instrumental background that’s equally as expressive, keeping the rock charge on low.

We recommend listening to the extended version (there’s also a radio edit); in it, you’ll find a rather long intro, which is pretty beautiful, and makes clear the scope of Peter’s eclectic songwriting. We appreciate!
