The Bondurants Return with Epic New EP ‘Take the Night Away’

The Bondurants have been whipping up tasty and captivating tunes since their formation way back in 2011. Based in Leeds, the alternative country and rock quintet has been championed by the BBC repeatedly and even performed at the famous Reading and Leeds festival. After a six-year studio hiatus, the band have now returned with ‘Take the Night Away’, a four-track EP that delightfully displays their diverse and varied sound. Drawing on influence from the likes of the late Tom Petty, Steely Dan, Bruce Springsteen, The Pretenders, and John Mayer, The Bondurants firmly believe that this is their best work to date.

Kicking things off is the EP’s title track ‘Take the Night Away’, a masterfully crafted and upbeat little tune that dances its way into your head and refuses to leave. With the catchiest of choruses and an infectious melody, it’s the perfect start to proceedings. ‘When We Were Young’ then follows, and takes on a similar shape and essence to its predecessor. Notably, Simon Pollard’s vocals are truly exceptional, and shine brightly throughout the entire EP.

‘Take My Heart’ and ‘Call Me Again’ complete the record, and I’m going to leave you to discover their individual brilliance all on your own! What I will say, however, is that this EP is an absolute gem!
