It’s not the first time we have written about The Afro Nick and ‘Get There Before Noon’. Previously described by Mesmerized as “well balanced between relatable, melodic songwriting and forward-thinking, leftfield arrangements”, the project’s debut effort is a rather compelling offering, fully embracing The Afro Nick’s eclectic, contemporary side. Dubbed ‘The LA Mix’, the track showcases the evolution endured by the talented guitarist, following his move from New York to Los Angeles.
Now, ‘Get There Before Noon’ returns to our attention with a wonderfully hazy music video. In it, we get a glimpse of The Afro Nick’s bubbly and – at times – nostalgic artistry. A professional musician in his own right, Nick Anastasakis is the human behind the project. Boasting Greek roots, he now calls the US his home, and it’s fair to say, he’s created a pretty colourful universe around him.
Examples of his extended activities in the industry are, among others, being featured on television in season ten of PBS’s, ‘Roadtrip Nation’ series, and on international radio stations such as Cosmos FM, an educational organization dedicated to preserving Greek heritage in the United States.
“Making the most of life in the moment, while you can.” That’s the core message behind ‘Get There Before Noon’ – something that we can all get behind, especially during times like these.
