Following up on their latest EP ‘Instrumental’, released earlier this summer, Tez shares a stunning new single, ‘Feels Like Winning’. Starting a process that will take them gradually towards a new full-length record in 2024, the group seems determined to keep their momentum going, doing so with a track that feels way more punchy and nuanced than their previous offerings. Perhaps teaming up with producer Ian Flynn, well-known in the London circuit, has supercharged their sonic identity.
There’s a brighter aura to it, something that makes ‘Feels Like Winning’ instantly more relatable and approachable. A win for the Canterbury-based band, who’s set for a glorious path in the next few months. How could it not be? The single is incredibly immersive and catchy. Introduced by an understated, curious groove shared by drum and bass, ‘Feels Like Winning’ gets soon taken over by spacious and hypnotising guitars, the perfect environment for Tez’s sleazy and charismatic vocals. Everything comes together in the chorus, like a majestic formula that finally found its zenith.
Speaking about the record, Tez explains: “It’s about celebrating the little wins and not letting external doubt creep in”. Notably, the release was supported by a crowdfunding effort, allowing the group to collect enough pledges to push their music forward.
