In the middle of last year, I stumbled upon an absolutely stunning and unique tune called ‘Forward’. Courtesy of Canadian-based singer/songwriter TerraTara, the warm and breezy track wormed its way into my heart and I simply couldn’t get enough of it. Now returning with a brand new single titled ‘Warrior of Love’, TerraTara once again serves up an infectious and reggae-infused little gem.
Telling a tale of longing for the return of a lover who is far away, ‘Warrior of Love’ is a delicate blend of folk with laidback Caribbean rhythms and colourful Bahamian bass. Working alongside Jamaine Johnson and Neil Symonette, TerraTara effortlessly blends her distinctive style with vibrant island influences and a refreshing tropical twist.
The lyrical and thematic sincerity of TerraTara’s work shines through in each single she releases, and it’s something that has to be admired. Whether it’s the positive nature of ‘Forward’, the urgent plea of ‘Waiting for the Rain’, or the fearless declaration of love in her latest offering, the artist is as genuine and authentic as anyone I’ve encountered.
I’m hopeful she won’t make us wait another year to hear from her again – because the world could currently use as much TerraTara as possible!
