TerraTara Keeps Moving ‘Forward’ on Latest Single

The very first time I heard ‘Forward’, I just knew I had to introduce it to all of you lovely folks! Courtesy of a singer/songwriter known only as TerraTara, who has dual American and Canadian citizenship, it’s a tune unlike any I’ve heard for quite some time. Fusing elements of reggae with folk and easy-listening pop, TerraTara, along with bandmates Catherine McGrath, Jamaine Johnson, and Neil Symonette have rustled up an absolute stunner! Mesmerizing guitar work meets Caribbean-style drums, deep basslines, and a sparkling mandolin, as TerraTara’s luscious and passionate vocals float over the irresistible soundscape.

“‘Forward’ was written initially about the exodus of a whole group of my peers from Ontario to British Columbia,” says the musician. “We were moving from the urban life and back to nature”. At its core, it’s a song about never looking back. It’s about continuously moving forward and letting go of the past. A simple message some might say, but a mighty tough one to live by.

The bass, drums, and percussion for ‘Forward’ were all recorded at Real Time Studios in Nassau, the sun-kissed capital city of The Bahamas. You can feel that warm Caribbean breeze and the rhythmic ocean flow through you as you listen to the track. Just perfect!
