Producer and DJ TATE SEDAR is now synonymous with modern, slick EDM stylings, at least on our blog. The American artist has showcased time and time again his ability to write and compose contemporary bangers, oscillating between pure mainstream territories and more alternative, leftfield corners. ‘Our Goodbye’ places itself into the pop realm, and it’s a triumph.
SEDAR’s latest effort, the single marks his collaboration with British rising songstress Liv Kennedy, lending her evocative and hazy vocals to the cause. Safe to say, it works rather well: TATE’s expansive and vibrant production pairs perfectly with Kennedy’s deep and malleable tone, making for a record that’s relatable, catchy and anthemic. In other words, the two talented peeps craft an absolute banger.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Our Goodbye’, the Los Angeles-based musician explains: “I feel like it was a track I was always supposed to make; it was meant to be.” Signalling the project’s constant growth (including SEDAR’s evolution into a pop persona), the single focuses on emotional, relationship-themed lyricism.
