Simple, yet engaging and soothing. ‘Summer Fling’ is exactly like summer, warm, bright and cosy – perhaps quite adventurous too. Built on tight acoustic settings, the track makes use of the classic combo guitar / cajon, a perfect match for Tarita’s soulful and evocative vocals. In fact, the minimal arrangements make sure we can fully appreciate the talented songstress’ cathartic tone, guiding a listening experience that’s approachable and rewarding.
Now based in India, Tarita spent eight years in Poland a long time ago, writing and recording ‘Summer Fling’ during that period. We are told that the song ‘laid dormant for 18 years’ – we are incredibly happy to see it flourish into a stunning, contemporary record, a sign that good music never gets old – it just gets better.
Citing Marcin Bukowski, Marcin Julius, and Carlos Bautista as collaborators, Tarita appears rather nostalgic about the release. Nothing to worry about: it’s only natural. ‘We’ll be saving ‘Summer Fling’ for the coming warmer months… perhaps for lazy beach days.
