Denver-based psychedelic rock act Tarantula Bill recently put out a new single called ‘Supertramp’, and it’s a tune that I’ve been slightly obsessed with ever since my first listen. A fuzzy, weighty, and hypnotic offering that brings to mind early Tame Impala, it’s a trippy adventure you wish didn’t have to end. A kaleidoscopic treat, if you will, that invites listeners to lose themselves in its mesmerizing and spaced-out soundscape.
Written and recorded by the brains behind Tarantula Bill, Kendon McGehee, it’s a track that reflects his deep understanding of the genre. Paying homage to its roots while also exploring new sonic territories and textures, ‘Supertramp’ is a bold and immersive song that sucks you in straight away and doesn’t let go for four minutes.
When performing live, Kendon is joined by Jason Kaplan on drums, Joe Lovoi on bass, and Dan O’Connell on guitar. Oh, what I’d give to see these fellas on stage! I just know they’d put on one hell of a show. Energetic, frenetic, and dripping with charisma, I can vividly picture an adoring crowd dancing and singing along through the night.
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Supertramp’ on Spotify now:
